Grilled Herring with Salad Greens


(serves four people)


  • 4 pc Herring
  • 6 cups Salad Greens
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • Sea salt and Pepper to Taste
  • 12 pc Cherry Tomato
  • ¼ cup Olive, sliced
  • 1 cup Cucumber, diced
  • ¼ cup Avocado, diced
  • 1 pc Shallot
  • 1 Tablespoon Red Wine Vinegar




1. Preheat a grill to medium high heat or prepare a broiler. Salt and pepper the fish, then toss the fish in ½ of the olive oil. Grill the fish, or place on a baking sheet and broil until cooked, around 7 to 8 minutes.


2. While the fish is cooking, prepare the salad. Combine the salad greens, lemon juice, tomatoes, shallot, cucumber, olives, avocado, vinegar and olive oil. Mix well, then place on a chilled plate. Top with the fish and serve immediately.
